The N-Viro process is located on the City of Sarnia Water Pollution Control Centre property. It serves a population of approximately 75,000 for the City of Sarnia. The plant has been operating continuously since March, 2001.
N-Viro also provides technical support, QA/QC, product approval, marketing and distribution of the product. The product is distributed under the Federal Fertilizers Act as a soil amendment to agriculture.
The Wastewater Treatment Plant process provides conventional secondary treatment. There were digesters prior to 2001 which were shut down when the N-Viro process took over. The combined biosolids are dewatered through centrifuges to 26-30% total solids.
Approximately 10,000 product tonnes of N-Viro Soil Amendment are produced each year. The product is marketed through a local fertilizer distributor similar to Leamington.
